PART 1/3 Ian Jackson opens the first of three sessions on assembly truth looking at the people who make up an assembly. After emphasizing that the assembly is first for God and His son is in the midst of every gathering, Ian looks at saints, elders and deacons. He shows that those in fellowship should be those who are saved, saints, brethren, called, believers and baptized. He then looks at the work of an elder and their necessity, plurality, responsibility, maturity, diversity and authority.

Ian Jackson closes the first message answering the question, 'What is a deacon?'.
