Samuel – The Making of a Man of God

Passage: 1 Samuel 1:1-20, 24-28, 2:11, 18-26, 30, 3:1, 7-10, 19-21
Service Type:

John Salisbury traces the early life of Samuel to show how God forms a “man of God” in dark days. Beginning with Hannah’s deep sorrow, earnest prayer, and sacrificial faithfulness, he shows that spiritual revival often starts with godly individuals who honour God. Samuel’s growth, first at home and then in the tabernacle, is marked by simple obedience, humble service, and spiritual sensitivity in a time when “the word of the Lord was rare.” Despite failures in the nation and in Eli’s household, Samuel learns to minister before the Lord, reverence his elders, and grow spiritually until God establishes him as His prophet. The governing lesson throughout is God’s promise: “Them that honour Me, I will honour.”
