Track and Trace
Over recent days your smartphone may have been updated with the potential to now track and trace. Agencies are also gearing up mechanisms to enable people to alert each other to advise us on who has recently been infected with Covid19. These have in turn raised privacy concerns due to the potential of sharing sensitive personal data.
People are concerned about their lives being open to scrutiny but interestingly ignore the fact that the God of heaven knows everything about them.
In the book of Psalms, the psalmist David reflects on this “Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off” (Psalm 139 v 2).
In the book of Luke, it states “even the very hairs of your head are all numbered” (Luke 12 v 7).
The God of the Bible lovingly knows all about us and in the words of a little children’s song – “he knows the worst about us but loves us just the same” CSSM Chorus.
Probably one of the best-known verses in the Bible confirms this – “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3 v 16).
The Bible declares we have all fallen short of God’s standard due to our wayward and sinful nature but “God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5 v 8). On the third day, “God raised him from the dead” (Acts 13 v 30) and the Lord Jesus was then seen by many and received back into heaven.
Like the publican in Luke chapter 18 will YOU acknowledge your sin today and say, “God be merciful to me a sinner” (Luke 18 v 13). The Bible goes on to state “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” (Romans 10 v 9)
Although we may have reservations on our personal data being shared with others, we can have assurance TODAY that all our sins, which are all known by God, can be forgiven by trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ.
“Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do” (Hebrews 4 v 13)
